Janet Strang has been a trustee for the Paget’s Association since September 2009 and is also a member of the Finance subcommittee. Janet commented, "I very much enjoy my role with the Paget's Association".
Janet has worked in the charity sector for over twenty years; including the Meningitis Research Foundation, the Stroke Association and the National Osteoporosis Society. Her interest in bone health was highlighted when she worked as a Nutrition & Education Adviser for the Milk Marketing Board, where she came into contact with the work of the National Osteoporosis Society. She later joined them as the National Support Group Manager and then Volunteer Manager for fifteen years, overseeing the increase of local support groups from forty to one hundred and thirty across the UK.
Although now retired, Janet is still involved with other charities, working voluntarily as Treasurer of her local Osteoporosis Group in Weston super Mare, she also helps to run two weekly stroke survivors groups for people with communication difficulties.
