Our 2019 Paget’s Information Day will be in Nottingham on Friday 4th October.

This event is for patients, families and carers. Health professionals, researchers and scientists also welcome. The venue is the Trent Bridge, Cricket Stadium, 26 Bridgford Rd, Nottingham NG2 6AG. Have your questions answered and meet with others who have similar concerns. There is no charge to attend. Refreshments and lunch will be provided.

SURGERY - Speakers will include orthopaedic surgeon, Professor Mark Wilkinson, from Sheffield. If you have any questions regarding orthopaedic surgery, such as joint replacement, you will have the opportunity to have them answered.

TREATMENT - Nottingham consultant, Dr Peter Prinsloo will be making sense of treatment for Paget’s disease. He will include discussion around the risks involved in treatment and why treatment may not always alleviate pain.

EXCITING DISCOVERIES AT THE PRIORY - Professor Rob Layfield, a Trustee and local researcher, will be explaining how diagnosing an ancient form of Paget’s disease, using modern methods, is providing some interesting results that may inform current thinking about the condition.

PAGET’S AND PAIN - Data Manager, Kathryn Berg, from Edinburgh will be joining us to present details of a study called ‘Deciphering the Mechanisms of Pain in Paget’s Disease’ (PIP), which aims to enhance our understanding of the causes of pain in patients with Paget’s Disease of Bone. Patients from all over the UK will be able to get involved in the research.

NEW RESEARCH - Our new Chairman, Professor Stuart Ralston, will be providing information regarding recent developments in Paget’s research.

Ask the Experts a Question: This is an important part at the end of the day when those attending can ask questions on any aspect of Paget’s disease, that have not already been answered during the event.
