Grant Programme 2008
The National Association for the Relief of Paget’s Disease
(NARPD) is a charity which was founded in 1973 to:
- Offer information and support to those suffering from Paget's
Disease
- Encourage and assist research into the causes
and treatments of the disease
- Raise awareness of the disease among the medical
profession and public at large
In order to further these aims the Trustees of the NARPD will fund
research projects that:
- Advance understanding of the causes of Paget’s disease
and/or provide new insights into management of the disease and
the prevention of complications.
For the 2007-2008 funding round, the trustees wish to particularly
encourage the submission of applications which address the negative
impact that Paget’s disease has on quality of life and the
strategies that might be used to address this.
It is expected that research projects will awarded for periods
of between 1-3 years. Although there is not formal upper limit for
funding, it is unlikely that projects with total value in excess
of £100,000 will be able to be supported.
In considering applications for research support the Trustees will
take the advice of the Scientific Advisory Committee as to quality
and feasibility of the proposed research and its relevance to Paget’s
disease. In providing such advice the Scientific Advisory Committee
may seek the comments of appropriate external advisers and applicants
will be provided with feedback where possible.
Applications should be submitted by email to Marilyn McCallum at
director@paget.org.uk
on or before the deadline of Wednesday 30th April 2008.
