The National Association for the Relief of Paget's Disease was founded in 1973 and is the only UK national charity whose remit is solely concerned with sufferers of this condition. The specific aims of the Association are to provide information and support for Paget's Disease sufferers and their families; raise awareness about the condition both within the medical profession and amongst the general public and support and fund research projects in the field of Paget's Disease of Bone.

These aims are still valid today as they were at our inception and underpin all our present work which ranges from supporting individuals on the telephone, face to face, by correspondence, by e-mail or through our local support network; producing literature; quarterly newsletters for both lay members and health professionals.

But there is one particular aspect of our work I would like to bring to your attention. Although we are a small charity we have a record in fundraising and grant provision of which we can be justifiably proud. We are the only source of funding for research into Paget's Disease in the UK. The Association receives no government or statutory support and the majority of our resources come from voluntary donations and fundraising, which makes it all the more remarkable that in the last 4 years alone we have committed over £400,000 to a variety of high quality very productive research projects.

We have a new partnership with justgiving.com which will enable people to donate to the NARPD via the justgiving.com website. It will also encourage fundraisers to produce their own fundraising page which will allow their supporters to donate on-line.

In June 1999 we launched this website in the hope of reaching out to Paget's Disease sufferers not only in the UK but also world wide. At the start of the project we had little idea what we were letting our selves in for, since we began our site has been visited by over 500,000 people.

We hope that you have found your visit to this site informative, supportive and user friendly. If you would like to make a donation to help continue the work of the Association please complete the simple donation form
